Fireworks
Begins around dusk. Rain date is the 6th.

Also, due to that we use the same company and pyrotechnic (Rich Turner) as the Village of Brooklyn, our fireworks date would be moved to Sunday the 6th if Brooklyn's display was rained out on the 4th. If by chance it were to rain on the 4th and 5th and Brooklyn's fireworks were moved to Sunday the 6th, then our display would be moved to Monday the 7th. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Please note that a special thank you goes out to Rich Turner who graciously puts forth the effort and work to ensure that each year we are able to enjoy our fireworks display and does this as a volunteer who does not require payment for all his time and efforts.

NOTE: We ask that during the boat parade people would refrain from throwing and hurling objects such as water balloons or other objects that can hurt someone or do damage. We suggest that people use water guns or throw soft objects such as marshmallows. Your cooperation is appreciated.

2007 ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT
A group of ice fishermen (and women) got together February 24th in the morning for the 1st Annual Lake Columbia Anglers Ice Fishing Tournament.

The tournament, organized by Steve Hunter and Todd Wanty, was a chance for lake residents and friends to get together for some friendly competition, camaraderie and to promote the fish stocking efforts of the lake.

Due to technical difficulties, there was no official scale available at weigh-in so a six-way tie was declared. Festivities then moved to Bob Richardson's garage for an outstanding fish fry of the day's catch.  Again there were no losers and all left happy and no one hungry!

2007 4th of JULY PICNIC & BOAT PARADE
The picnic and boat parade were a great success again this year and there was a big turnout.  Hot dogs, chips and drinks along with ice cream was available.  Music was provided by DJ Productions and there was a moonwalk provided for the kids.  We look forward to providing this again next year.

There were many boats that pre-registered for a chance to win some cash. The 4th of July Annual Boat Parade for 2007 was excellent and interesting to watch from the shoreline. The participants appeared to be having a lot of fun.

2007 TRUNK -n- TREAT
A huge "thank you" to all 22 cars that joined us this year, at Southern Shores Park, for a slightly windy-but pretty awesome Halloween Trunk - n - Treat.

At precisely 5:45, one by one people pulled into the park , backed into a space, and took their places. It brought tears to my eyes.

Some were dressed up-others brought lights-why, we even had one who laid in his trunk, so everyone got involved in their own way. Everyone brought their own candy, however we were glad to replenish their bowls, as the children kept coming.

The crowd was welcome to sit at the picnic tables, take a break and enjoy the cider and cinnamon doughnuts while their little ones walked from trunk to trunk underneath the huge tent.

We had an addition this year, The Witches Castle. Amongst the fog and spooky music-you received a decorated Halloween cookie as you exited, by someone inside! Did you go inside?

We had over 200 children walk through this year, which meant we not only gave out 22 treats to every child, we also gave out smiles and memories that will last a lifetime.

A special thank you to Chris Bowman and Dave Dahl for helping Jan and myself set up and tear down.

Again, thank you to everyone who helped make Trunk -n- Treat so special. I hope you will participate again next year, as our new goal is to reach 30 vehicles for October 2008. :)

Thank you,  Trish O'Shea
